About
Experience what the Greenlandic wilderness has to offer
In 2022, we set out with a goal to create accommodation deep in the Greenlandic wilderness where you could experience some of the things that make Greenland a unique travel destination.

Icebergs
Nuuk is a very nice place to spot icebergs. The place where the ice originates, is located at the bottom one of the largest fjord system in the world - an area the size of the Faroe islands.
We built our camp deep in the fiord, near the glaciers that fill our fiords with ice, ensuring that icebergs would be a part of the experience when travelling to, and staying in our camp.

Wildlife
Our fiords are, during the summer months, home to one of the largest mammals on the planet - The Humpback Whale. From June to September, the humpback whale is a common sight on our tours, and you may get a chance to see them on the boat tour to or from camp. There are also wild caribou roaming nearby, seals among the icebergs, and a rich birdlife, with several bird small birdcliffs near our camp. It is also said to be where the only pair of White Gyr Falcons reside in the fiord system of Nuuk. It has been said that the falcon is a great Angakkoq (Shaman) that resides atop the mountain we view from camp.

HIKING
Camp Kangiusaq offers several hiking opportunities, with tours of between 2 and 22km. The area does not have any marked trails (we are currently working on marking the trails in a way that has minimal impact on the surrounding untouched nature), but we provide a GPS and safety equipment, or GPX files so that you can plot them into your GPS.
These routes lead to some of the wonderful viewpoints we've found during our time there. It has to be noted that hiking here is not like anywhere else in the world, there aren't any set trails except wildlife highways. Our camp staff can give you an idea of where to go, and shorter guided tours are offered.

How does the camp run?
We arrive at and depart from our wooden pontoon, a short walk from the camp. Luggage that you don't want to carry will be transported by our ATV.

A large communal tent lies at the centre of the camp. This is where all meals are served, where our bar and shop are, and where you are always welcome to relax, to enjoy a hot or cold drink and chat with camp staff. This is also where we check in and out.

After lunch in the afternoon, and after breakfast in the morning, there is plenty of time, and there are plenty of opportunities for guided kajak, fishing and hiking tours or to explore the camp and the surrounding area on your own.

All meals and hot drinks are included in the stay.
